The Challenge

Continental used a legacy enterprise search platform, which was not performing well anymore and presented incomplete result sets. As part of its digital transformation, Continental further aimed at a cloud migration of content and search. Therefore, the company chose a search-first migration to the cloud. A particular challenge was the continuous use of all sources even during the content migration. Thus, the project had to guarantee an ongoing collaboration, regardless of where the data was stored.

Digital transformation is important for Continental's future success. Part of this process was the migration of our collaboration platforms to the cloud. Raytion as a partner played a crucial role in the design and implementation of the search infrastructure. With Raytion's help, search became a reliable and central element of the digital workplace.

Our Solution

Corresponding to Continental’s requirements Raytion designed and built a new enterprise search, based on SharePoint Online. The solution enabled an unimpeded search, as it was integrated not only into M365 but also into the on-premises intranet via the Raytion Search & Retrieval Interface. It allowed finding content from all important sources, such as M365 or the intranet and was offered to around 145,000 Continental employees worldwide. The created framework will enable further seamless and precise integrations of even more source systems.
